DISPLAY VARIABLES SENT IN BY: AVIS N. WYATT, JR. 14701 LOREN DRIVE CHESTER, VIRGINIA 23831 AFTER YOU HAVE RUN A PROGRAM, JUST "EXEC DISP VAR". IT WILL GIVE YOU A LIST OF ALL THE VARIABLES USED SO FAR IN YOUR PROGRAM. IT USUALLY ADDS ONE VARIABLE TO THE LIST. THAT IS "AV" WHICH WILL BE THE LAST VARIABLE LISTED IF "DISP VAR" ADDED IT. "AV" IS THE POINTER TO THE BEGINNING OF THE ARRAY VARIABLES. IF "AV" IS ANYWHERE BUT LAST IN THE THE LIST, THEN IT WAS A VARIABLE OF THE PROGRAM. OR, YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW WHAT VALUES EACH OF THE VARIABLES CONTAINS. IN THAT CASE, "EXEC DISP VAR VALUES". THE SCREEN WILL CLEAR, AND A PRINT STATE- MENT WILL APPEAR AT THE TOP: SOMETHING LIKE-- ]?R$,M,EA,F%,Q$,M$,B,AV, USE THE RIGHT ARROW KEY TO TYPE OVER THE ENTIRE STATEMENT AND PRESS RETURN. A TABLE OF ALL THE VARIABLE'S VALUES WILL BE DISPLAYED. THESE VARIABLES: AV, SV, I, AND A$, MAY HAVE THE -- -- - -- WRONG VALUES, BECAUSE "DISP VAR VALUES" USED THEM TO FIND THE OTHER VARIABLES. THIS ROUTINE IS GREAT AS IT STANDS, BUT WOULDN'T IT BE SLICK IF IT DIDN'T ADD "AV", OR IF THE VARIABLE VALUES WERE PRINTED IN TABULAR FORM WITH THE VARIABLE NAMES? SOMETHING LIKE: A$ = "SINE" B = 5.3092 F% = 109 NO$ = "NO!" MAYBE A ROUTINE WRITTEN IN MACHINE LANGUAGE COULD DO ALL THAT... ANYONE OUT THERE WANT TO TRY?
